Cutting a hole through a Stair

Hello experts,

I'm using Window 10 with Geforce GTX 1080Ti and Revit 20181011_1500(x64)
2018.3.2.

I'm trying to cut a hole through the stair cases, but wasn't able to. There is a Fire pipe going vertically on the stair, and I want to cut a hole to show it to precast team (see PDF for clarity). I have tried using model in place with void and using a genetic void family but it doesn't work. I believe the experts in here with have a way. Thank you.

There is not a straightforward way to cut a hole in a stair landing. You can try the workaround as shown on the RevitRecess website. Basically mirroring the landing at the middle of the opening.

hole through system family stairs? no can do -- that is, you can do it, but it's a pain in the buttocks! This one is a Sketched-Based Stair. That is TWO Sketch-Based Stairs spliced together.

Thanks for the reply. Could you show me how? Are you drawing the with a half-circular boundaries for both stair cases?

Can be done from Stair by Sketch editing Boundary Lines:
