Hi,

please see attached photos. I'm modelling a building which has a zig zag roof and I want to joint the middle dips in a point, not flat (see existing sections). Also, I want to know if there is any way to carry the roof down at the eaves to it runs flushly into the wall? Does anyone know how this would be possible?

You can do it quite easily, but does that really communicate how to build the roof, or what the as-built cross-section actually looks like?

Here's my suggestion: figure out how the roof will actually be built to look like a "zig zag", and then model it that way. I assure you: it ain't going to be a seamless transition between roofs/layers at hinge points when built.

But if you must...use your Modify Sub Element tools to shape edit a monolithic roof slab in Revit. That's what I'm showing. There are other ways too.

1. roof by extrusion
2. multiple gable roofs joined together
3. one flat roof with modified sub elements to add ridges or valleys (thickness will be compromised)

...maybe you just need plumb cuts - instead of square cuts - between each roof?

Illustration of 2 out of 3 methods mentioned above. (3) would not be my choice in this case because the slope is steep that would affect the thickness more than acceptable.
