how to calculate footings formwork?

My question is how to calculate with Revit formwork areas for footings.

Depends what you need. If you need the total area (vertical surfaces), you could model the formwork before you calculate it. It could be some simple parametric line-based family.

use Calculated Parameter Fields:

2*(L+W)*T for Column foundations
and 2*W*T for Wall foundations
use Filter to isolate Wall and Column foundations

How can we model formwork in order to calculate area for footings?

columns and walls ok, but what about footings, strip footing?

I don't care if its a wall formwork, column formwoork or foundation strip formwork. I can use the same parametric line-based family to model it all. Its attached.

Btw, I wanna thank you for posting this question. Right now, I'm working in construction and maybe we are going to use this family that I built for you.

Just load into project (insert/load family). Create a component (Architecture Tab/Component)...Draw the line. Explore instance properties and type properties of this family.

hello again, I would like to ask you that now that I used this component for formwork how can I receive the quantities from View-Schedules, in order to find the quantity in sqr.m for my take off? thank you in advance

Open type properties of the family. You will see a material parameter. Assign a new material and call it "Formwork". Create a material take-off schedule and check "Generic Models". Add these fields: material:name material:volume There s no need to add [material:area] because you would not get the area you need. [material:area] calculates all the surfaces of a generic model. This is not a floor or a wall where you would get an area of one surface. Instead of that, create a calculated value called "Area" and give it a formula: [material:volume]/50mm Input the formwork thickness of your choosing.

...the family is updated. It can be used to create beam formwork as well.
