ok.. here I am again.. dont know what I did, or if I did, but my "masking region" tool is not masking anything. If I had know the masking tool was a commodity, I maybe would not have used so much...

it's worse than I thought... even a hatch pattern with the "masking" option does not mask anything. I even tried to "brng to front" to no avail...

Do you mean the "visual style" as in select wire frame instead of hidden line? if that's what you meant... it does nothing different. If there's a place to go to select the visual style of a masked region... that must be in a different department...??

-Verify that the Region is at the “Front” of the detail. Select the masking region, and in the Modify|Detail Items tab pick the Bring to Front tool.

-Verify that Visual Style in the View Control bar is set to Hidden Line

-Access the Visibility Graphics dialog box and verify that Transparency is set to 0%.

-Select the Masking Region, right-click and select Override Graphics In View>By Element. In the View Specific Element Graphics dialog box ensure that the Surface Transparency is set to 0%.

Had this happen where someone set "Detail Items" in visibility graphics to 100% transparency in a view template.

Im checking it all out.. it's wierd because I'm the only one with access to this computer. I didnt change any settings. The masking tool is not working for masking or for filled regions where I select the masking option. Its almost as if the transparancy is set to 100%, although I have checked it, and toggled it to no effect. Ive brought it to front, sent it to back... did a do-se-do and turned myself around....

At some point, there are times when you have to approach Revit like a pilot getting ready to fly... going through the check list will uncover certain irregularities. I dont know why, but the view was set to wire frame by mistake.. switched it back again to hidden line, and its all good... what's wierd is that it was set to hidden line when this all started to happen... I think.... :]
