Modify Layer Mapping for DWG/DXF Export

Hello,

I'm reading this argument but do not undrestand the differences between the three opstion:

Export category properties BYLAYER and overrides BYENTITY. A Revit LT element with view-specific graphic overrides will retain those overrides in the CAD application, but will reside on the same CAD layer as other entities in the same Revit LT category.
Export all properties BYLAYER, but do not export overrides. View-specific graphic overrides will be ignored in the CAD application. Any exported Revit LT element will reside on the same CAD layer as other entities in the same Revit LT category. By forcing all entities to display the visual properties defined by their layer, this option results in a lower number of layers and provides by-layer control over the exported DWG/DWF file.
Export all properties BYLAYER, and create new layers for overrides. A Revit LT element with view-specific graphics will be placed on its own CAD layer. This option provides by-layer control over the exported DWG/DXF file, and preserves graphical intent. However, it increases the number of layers in the exported DWG file.

How is "View-specific graphic overrides"?

Before the post on AUtodesk I read my guide in Italian and in this say that in Export category properties BYLAYER and overrides BYENTITY all the elements in the same categories (for example all wall or all windows) are expoterd in the same layer and for this will assigned the color "by layer". The elements which are applied overrides (grachic replacement - we can indicate this in this manner?-) will be exported always in the same layer but for these the color in "by block".

For Export all properties BYLAYER, but do not export overrides say that:

"all objects of the same category will be exported in the same layer and the color in "by layer" but the ovverdies will not take into acconut"

1) First question: what is ovverides and i find they in the pic scheme?

2) if a have walls and windows these are exported in two difference layer, right?

is because here I can override and if I click on "no override" all categories will be exported anyway and the categories that have overried will be reported with the original pattern/color/weight, anyone in a single layer for each category, right?

The best way for you to understand how it functions is to place 2 wall in Revit each with a window + a door... and try playing with the different export options ...one time with overrides onetime without you know...but to answer your questions:

1) First question: what is overrides and i find they in the pic scheme?

Overrides can be the overrides you apply for a category/subcategory in Visibility Graphic palette per view (the one you showed in your post)

And

Overrides are also the ones you apply in the view when you right click an element (example: a wall) and override the graphics in the view

Say you have applied a graphic over to a wall in a view to give it a different projection pattern/weight … if you use "Export all properties BYLAYER, but do not export overrides" then those override will be ignored and you get that wall as per the layer mapping which you defined in the DWG Export options … ie: it will look the same as all other walls

2) if a have walls and windows these are exported in two difference layer, right?

Yes, those are two different categories ... but if you want them to be on same layer/color, you can change that in the layer mapping dialoge of the DWG export options

When the Bylayer option is applied, the line pattern is not applied and exported to DWG.
I also tried changing the options in the line category in the DWG export options, but nothing changed. I am wondering if there is a solution for this.
