Unfortunately in this case the answer is a no, Revit won't do that. It only specifies one family for both ends of a grid and it does not rotate the opposite end annotation family. They could accommodate this graphical approach if they offered a start and end grid bubble annotation and if they provided a toggle to invert the symbol at an end. Something for Revit Ideas.

Align grid "handles" to grid lines

Good day.

I would like to show that the grid "handles" are aligned to grid lines. However, I can not seem to do it. How can I make it work?

I tried the following methods:
1. Created a grid head family with the supposed "handle". It works on the top grid head only, but when it comes to bottom/left/right grid heads, it becomes like this:

2. From the family with the "handle", I tried using shared parameters with visibilities that hides these handles through a checkbox. However, it did not work.

You may see the attached file below for the grid head family.

I am not quite sure on how to call the "handle", if there should be a term for it, let me know.

Cheers.

Not sure this will work. The column grid ballon family is somewhat restrictive in what you can do in it. And as you saw, even if you add a generic annotation or region, it will stay in the quadrant that you placed it in.

I don't have a solution, but I am curious why you want this. What function does it serve - assuming form follows function in this case.

I did create a visibility parameter on these directions. However, it did not work. My custom-made family with these parameters is attached within the original post. Don't worry - I don't mind about the slanted grids, I just need the straight ones.

Hello, good day.

I am still looking for the solution - I have thought of using generic annotations for grid heads instead, however, maybe we could still find a much efficient solution.
