Underlay not showing above

I need to show the fitouts from level 2 on the plan view of level 1 but I can't make that work. I have been messing with the underlay combination looking up and down and changing view range for more than 2 hours and nothing works!

Help!

I can see windows above but no walls, partitions or furniture shows see photos

Upload model or test the following, and tell what do you see

Test 1

If walls are attached to slab Level 3; Detach walls
Set unconnected height >= than the Primary Range Top of the view range

Test 2:

Add a level datum at Level 3 "Bottom of Slab" ...Call it say L3-BOS just for reference
set underlay "Range: Top" to the L3-BOS

What is your Level 1 view range setting? Make sure the Top does not go above Level 2.

The view range is not above level 2 see in the photos below for both level 1 and 2.

If I detach the walls they become 2500mm unconnected and they show in level 1 as underlay but not the furniture. This solved part of the problem but not sure how or why

Can you share the model?

Did a test myself: you can change the floors category to 100% transparency, or select the 2nd level floor in teh section view and hide/make it transparent in the level 1 plan view.

The 2nd floor is more of a Mezzanine (2.2m high) … setting the underlay Top to Level 3 and looking down => floor slab on 3rd floor is blocking the view of the walls and furniture (that is why when you detach you see the walls when they extend above the floor element @ Level 3 but not the furniture because they are hidden below floor.

Option 1:

If it is a temp thing, go to visibility graphics and Hide the floor elements temporarily...do whatever you need to do then unhide it

Option 2:

leave your walls as they are attached to the floor slab @ level 3
leave the underlay settings same to what you posted earlier
use Wireframe

Option 3:

Add a level at the bottom of the slab (BOS) as mentioned above
Attach walls back to floor @ level 3 or set top constraint to BOS datum
set the underlay top to the datum @ BOS (this will cancel the floor slab @ level 3 from the equation

The hide floor and wireframe worked. Everything is shown now. I didn't add the level because I dont want to add more views. Thanks for the help.

Now I hope the location lines issue will be solved

Here is a link to "View Range of Underlays" kinda explains why the floor slab you had on level 3 (falling entirely between the underlay top and bottom range) was hiding your elements on the second floor

For the additional datum (it could be useful for structural plan - you can delete the RCP and Architectural Plans)...also useful if you want to keep the underlay to place on sheets
