I think you will have to use a generic annotation and enter the view name manually or using Dynamo.

How can I print the view name on the view itself?

I know how to get the view name on the sheet, no problem. My question is about showing the view name on the view itself. My workflow sometimes involves printing some views and schedules, so I can see them all together on individual sheets. I sit at a big table away from the computer, compare details among all the views and mark them up with a pencil. When finished, I either perform the edits at the computer or have it done. The problem is the time-waster of hand-printing the view names on the printed sheets so I can keep track of them. Today I have thirty-plus sheets. I would like to paste a family in the view. Even better if I could associate the family visibility to a global parameter to shut them all off when printing sheets. Any ideas? Thanks.

A generic annotation family that is, with an instance parameter in label for the view name to input manually/using Dynamo. You could add a visibility parameter in the family and associate that to a global on/off parameter in type properties (right click in project browser).

for schedules its easy, include the Title Text and that is the name of the schedule...

for views you will need to create a Generic annotation like @martijn_pater suggested and use a dynamo script, or some other method, to read the View Name parameter of the view or enter it in manually.

Unfortunately no way to do this within Revit. Revit does retain the view names when exporting views as an images. Then it is possible to print images from another program that gives you the option to print with names. Windows 10, Lightroom and Picasa all have this feature.
