Printing elevations with shadows to pdf.

After spending the morning on this issue and finding NO solution, but finding opinions that some never use shadows on their plans, Is that the opinion of all?

Printing to PDF elevations with shadows on.

Seems there is absolutely no solution to keep the elevation from losing most of its clarity (Like half tone).

I have tried every trick in the book.

Hard to help you troubleshoot something I can't see. Can post something for us to replicate?

Just trying to print elevations to PDF.

They always revert to Raster and the error message is inaccurate in that there is no way to over ride like it suggests.

Changing intensities of raster has no effect. Changing pixels have no effect.

Even trying to import to DWF files do not work.

I have not found a solution anywhere.

I have found though, a few comments that: we never use shadows in out construction drawings.

Post the DWF itself - instead of a PNG of the DWF.

Edit the pdf printer preference dnd increase the resolution to 2400 dpi, and set raster quality in revit to presentation.

OK, here's the DWF file and here's what I get when I set the settings to "default" (Which is the settings larger than 1200, which is in Bluebeam.) I also tried 1200, with same results.

Is there a pdf converter that goes to 2400?

Finally decided to solve the 'mystery'.

Go to Graphic Display, Depth Cueing.

Unclick 'Show Depth' !!!

Check 'Show Depth' again and try to 'play with 'fade' numbers...

Not sure yet how they control the shadows and line display, but thought the rest of you should get the info.

Please share your experiments!

Any effects like shadows (and other) force rasterization printing. It seems Autodesk has not implemented a vector function to do that.
