I have a group that shows up under groups that when I insert it it is incorrect and does not agree with the same group name for all the other groups that are in the model. I have verified that it is the "same" group by selecting "all in model". All groups in the model look correct but the one that I drag in is wrong.

Can't figure out why this might be.

My understanding would be that when I update a group that is in the model that it also updates the group with the same name in the tree..... like blocks behave in autocad.

Assuming I am correct in my understanding, how do I go about correcting the group in the tree without it impacting all of my other groups?

Is this something that might correct itself if I close out of revit and reboot?

Group on right (multiple instances) in the model.

I'm wondering now if I might have somehow moved the insertion point on something. I don't have a good handle on how moving that affects the groups in the tree and vice versa.

A side topic but would like to place the insertion point on my groups that I use over and over again in a logical location. Haven't intuitively found a way to manage that yet when I create the group or want to change the location in the group I want to use for all my groups.

When you select the group in the view is the Restore All Excluded button appear on the context ribbon? It is possible to exclude something within a group from the display of a group. For example a classroom desk layout can include all the desk/chairs that could fit in the classrooms but in one or more classrooms that have a column that interferes with a desk/chair...that desk/chair can be "excluded" from the group. This means this instance of the group is different from the rest.

Not seeing any restore all excluded option. I'm familiar with that capability in Revit but not using it currently.

Note that nothing is excluded in this particular group. All the linework is there it has just relocated itself somehow.

Yeah that is strange. Can you copy paste that two groups in a new project and share it? By the way, that should be a detail family with parameters to change dimensions instead of a group. Revit has the family already, you just need to edit it and add the fill.

Toan. Yeah I know about the family. Trying to get there.

Here are the two groups in a rvt file.
