How to Clip an AutoCAD file view inside Revit

How can I clip or crop view, only for the AutoCAD file I have imported? Similar to how you can do it in AutoCAD when you insert an Xref.

A masking region with <Invisible Lines> for the boundary might suffice.

unfortunately not. Revit does not nave a XClip tool like Autocad does. there are some workarounds out there, but no tool in Revit i know of.

you can try making 2 Views, one with only a cropped DWG link and the other with the modeled content. place them both on the same sheet and line them up.

Nope. It shows the full file. You cannot Xref your drawing to a second Cad file where it is cropped because revit will ignore the cropped boundary and reveal the entire dwg.

Do you know of anyway to clip or crop it? Above they mention a workaround but not what the workaround is.

Only work around I know is what I mentioned 😁 .

Revit don't have the ability to clip AutoCAD. However it will clip portion of the DWG if you use export function. First you crop using floor plan crop view.

Then export that cropped plan as DWG. When you relink, the drawing will cropped.

Revit Can't do it, I wBlock the portion and then import in to Revit.
a good way is to create a REVIT REPOSITORY FILE
and then import using "insert from file..."

It's insane that Revit includes things like (for now) useless generative AI design optionality, yet won't implement this a basic functionality like clipping a linked file. It's not sexy but there are posts going back to 2012 and beyond wondering about this same feature.
