Re-Show Schedule Title After Deleting Row/Clearing Cell

Occasionally, I have to create schedules with its View Name separate from its displayed Title. In example, "Rooms_Schedule 1" as its view name and "Room Schedule" displayed on its title. The known workflow is to delete the cell of the header and type away. That is all and great, however, is there a way to revert back to having the Header cell show its actual view name?

Aren't they the same? Default name was changed here.

~~Right click on the Title cell and Reset override.~~

Looks like there is no way to associate the title text back to the schedule view name after overriding it.

the Name of the schedule is the name that will appear in the header. what we do is just uncheck the Show Title option in the schedule appearance options and put text in manually on the sheet after the schedule is placed.

You CAN clear the default title cell and manually type in any text you want in it.

Anytime i have tried, it always renamed the schedule name too. a lot of our project are still in 2017 though, so maybe it is a version thing? ill give it a try again when i have time. 👍

It's been there since at least 2015. And you do have to right click on the Title Cell and Clear Cell, then you can type in what you want. Just delete the original text and type in new text will just rename the view.

Did you forget the most important step: Right click on the cell and Clear Cell?

As explained in my post, the known workflow is to delete/clear the cell and you can type whatever you want. Glad that has helped someone but can anyone else confirm there is no way to revert back?

Hi all!

A very old question. But we are lucky to have people like Steve Stafford.

Here you are the solution. In summary:

1- To reset the header, while in the Schedule Editing mode/view, click in the Header field, notice the Parameters panel on the ribbon?
2- Click Category: (a drop down list box) > Choose Schedule

3- Now click the Parameter: (a drop down list box) > Choose View Name

You should see now. The brackets indicate that Revit will provide whatever the parameter value is. In this case its the parameter value for View Name.
