Measuring in 3D / Perspective

This is a broad question for those at Autodesk or anyone who might know if this tool is in development. I'd be very interested to see the measure tool enabled in perspective and axonometric views. It seems to me this would be fairly easy to implement, as the tool could toggle between different planes whether reference planes or elements of objects to measure (in 3 axis) in, for example a perspective view.

Just a question - thanks for any input or knowledge.

Yes! It is a big fail.

It is a paid addin but i think it is worthy the price.

You can't place dimensions in perspective views.

Well, not many programs can measure in 3D except:

- AutoCAD
- SketchUp
- 3DMax
- Rhino
- Blender
- Navisworks
- 3D DWF Viewer
- ReCap
- 3D Home
- <insert any other paid or free 3D programs here>

I've been looking for a tool like this for years, and the price is $9.90 per year.

I have just downloaded the only version available on the Autodesk store (the 30-day free trial) which installed okay, and worked once, but the only units available were decimal feet and Revit locked up after the first use of the tool. Task Manager was the only way out. I restarted Revit 2020 three times, and had the same result each time.

Not quite ready for prime time, but I'll be in line when it is.

This is the perfect example of how awful the Autodesk monopoly is. They can avoid adding in even the most basic functionality indefinitely on software that is way overpriced, because we don't have any other options
