Hi,

I need to create an architectural model with some organic parts. I would handle it in Moi3D / Rhino, then import it into Revit as sat format and finally assigning it materials by layers.

I attempted to basically follow the instructions that are often found online as follows:

1. Make sure the specific elements of the block or extrusion [in the CAD file] are on relevant layers.
2. Materials under Manage > Objects Styles > Imported Objects.
3. Look for the name of the CAD file and expand to see individual layers. You can remove layers default material assignment if needed by clicking the "..." button > No Material.
4. Assign the desired Revit materials to the layers and they should appear in the project views.

Unfortunately, as far as I can see the model with his layer color, I don't find any entry under "imported models".
So I tried to import it into a local mass and then use it to generate, for example, a wall by detecting a face.
However, I would like to understand if I am wrong and what the correct workflow would be in the case.

Thanks to whoever wants to help me!

George

So I believe that my message was not so clear (my bad, I'm not english).

The standard workflow should provide a sub-menu voice in manger styles window and other sub-voices relatives to layers structure of imported model like as shown below:

https://www.samilolab.it/portfolio/tutorial-esportazione-da-rhinoceros-a-revit/

So my question is: can I model something in Rhino and thus import it, assign a material to it, and viewing it in sections and plans?

Thanks,
