@martijn_pater Switching the join order does solve the issue of which wall is in front, but then the join order is actually wrong. The join order does not solve the transparency issue though.

Why would elements of the wall be transparent? When I change the background of a cut material to solid fill - it has no effect.

@lucdoucet_msdl Wall extensions do not work with joined walls. They would also apply to every wall of that type, which is not what I am looking for as I would have to create dozens of wall types.

Also just to be clear, changing the wall join parameters via function, also does not work, as these are special cases where I want, for instance, a thermal element to go past a structural element.

First off, how can I make materials in my wall opaque.

As I stretch them over another wall, they always seem to be transparent. Filled regions can be opaque or transparent, is there not way to make the wall materials act the same way?

Secondly, if I have a joined wall/roof, wherein the roof extends over the wall, the wall parts that i want to extend upwards, show behind the roof parts. Is there any way of having them show in front of the roof?

I keep running into issues using parts with sections, is this not what parts are for? They seem completely useless. What would be best practices in the image above, wherein the rigid insulation extends all the way up the wall ? - filled regions?

Reading the above I think it's a matter of switching the join order of the roof/wall (under modify/join dropdown).
