In my firm, we often create stairs using premanufactured stair treads with a metal plate welded to the back of it. I'm trying to create a stair type that looks more similar to what we are looking for than the default. I want it to look something like this:

I have gotten this far by updating nosing/riser/tread settings:

Is there a way to get the riser behind the tread pointing up instead of in front of the tread pointing down?

The riser box is checked and there is no nosing. I've also tried all of the combinations under Riser to Tread Connection with no luck.

I was able to get it to work by manipulating the riser profile to put a gap at the top.

Don't really get it. Seems to me like you should just use a default profile, not sure what you want to do with it though... "extend riser behind tread"
edit: ah I see, you don't want it to go all the way up. Use a custom Stair Riser profile and then in project browser find your profile type set the correct dimensions for your stairs, you might want to include a nosing parameter to offset it.
