Problem framing, generic model and Underlay

Hi there,

I'm wondering if there is a limitation that prohibits generic models and framing members beign shown in the underlay? Or perhaps I have my underlay set wrong and its not showing for another reason.

-All phases are set to Show All/ New Construction
- View range and under lay are set as shown in screen shot

Any help would be appreciated.

Is the Category turned on and the View set to something other than Wireframe?

Hello,

yes I've tried in hidden, shaded and realistic, and other parts of the
generic model and framing are showing. Oddly, the lighting attached to the
framing members are showing, and part of one framing member at the apex of
the roof structure are showing too.

I'm trying to make the overhead lines visible using an underlay so that I
can mark them (with linework) for my floor plan. I can't make the full
extent of the overhead lines show, so I've asked for help. What's more
confusing is that some elements that are overhead (the lights) are being
shown, whereas the structural framing members and tensile material are not.
Can you assist?

Check "Show Pre-Cut in Plan Views" in the Structural Framing Family

If so, raise the Cut Plane.

Well I am try to generate a drawing that shows everything above the cut plane as dotted lines as per convention. Is it not possible to show objects below the cut plane as solid and then as dashed above?

You cut plane cut through the tensile so they will not show as Underlay. Underlay only shows elements not captured by the view's primary range.

What you need to do is create a ceiling plan, VG to override the tensile to show dashed, and place it on the same sheet as the floor plan.
