Revit won't be able to save the model with texture. You have to remap it inside Revit. I even test mapping the texture map within AutoCAD and import it. Revit will not read the texture map even if Revit and AutoCAD shared the same texture. It is this shortcoming Autodesk haven't really solved. Your only way is import the model and map it using Revit texture.

Hello,

We are looking for a straitforward method to import 3d furniture models to Revit. (Created by 3ds max but can be converted to anything)

Whatever we do we get the wireframe with no texture at all.

We couldnt find the answer in the internet, but post that say it is impossible.

Is it indeed the case?

Please tell me otherwise...

Asaf

Create a furniture family and import the 3d model in it, place it centered to the two origin ref planes and check elevation see if it sits correctly. Rinse and repeat.

If you have plugin like enscape 2.9+ renderer, you are able to import FBX with texture and add it to revit for their rendering. You are able to take furniture with texture from Max and directly insert into their content. I find method works best for real time renderer.

https://enscape3d.com/latest-version/

Simply you have to export them as CAD Files them import into Revit but it will work as Wired frame but when u create extrusion in Family editor there also will work as Soilds but i think the idea of Mr @syman2000 is very good and saving time if it will works well

Another question, after rendering using the Enscape will it allow exporting to RFA that can be added to Revit on other computers with no Enscape installed?

When you give the file to person without enscape, they will only read regular Revit family without texture.
