How can I hide a wall's base extension in a plan view?

I unlocked the exterior layer of the walls in my model and extended that layer to reach the ground on the exterior of the house. Is there a way to hide this extension in the plan views?

You can use filter to hide wall using wall type name.

How do you see the extension in Plan View? Are you cutting through it?

This hides the entire wall instead of just the base extension, though. Or is there a way to filter by only the extension?

If I cut above the extension then it will hide it. If I don't cut it, cut through it, or cut below it then it is visible. The problem with cutting above it is that it prevents me from seeing anything else below.

Can you explain why this is not an acceptable look? It looks like a wall with some sort of finish on the exterior. I would consider that normal...

Yeah, I'm lost. Looks like two walls - each with two layers. If you don't want to see these two walls, then your only option is to hide them. If you want only one wall layer visible, then create Parts and hide the wall layer you don't want to see in the view.

I assume you are referring to wall extension. One way to hide it is to set the plan region and cut it below the extension height.

This answer made me realize how to get it working. I'll post it in case anyone finds this and needs the same fix. Instead of using a single wall and extending the base of one layer, just make a separate wall consisting of only the layer to be extended. Place this underneath the main wall and align the exterior faces. Then you can filter by the wall acting as the base extension in a plan view.

Solutions above are pretty bad. I am handling multiple revit files and replacing each is a drag. Is there a way to hide them all at once?
