IFC Export Issues

Hello,

I am having issues exporting IFC from revit 2020.2. For the last year everything worked flawlessly including the ifc export. I tried uninstalling the existing plugin, installing the new one and even the latest hotfix for revit but still not result. The output file is very small (35kb) comparing to the previous one that was 7-8mb. The log says the export is successfull but I ran out of options.

Hello,

Thank you for the reply but in the meantime I found the issue. For revit 2020.1 ifc export works flawlessly, problem is 2020.2 update . The new version is required to open the bim360 file, otherwise it doesn't load all the elements. Each time I need to export only the ifc I have to go back a version.

Interesting. I ended up upgrading a copy of a model to 2021 version today, after trying all my tricks in 2020 and failing, and was able to export from Revit 2021 without a problem.
Since Revit 2020 is not supported any longer and won't be receiving any new updates, it seems to me that any future IFC exports from Revit 2020 will require upgrading (a copy) to 2021 in order to export to IFC.
