Detail line extending into callout head

I modified the existing Revit callout head to be smaller, now the connecting line extends into the callout head.

Unable to replicate that no matter how I stretch it... tab select the callout to reveal the grips of the leader and try dragging around!!

Post an screenshot showing grips or upload the callout head family

Nothing shows wrong with it at my end...it works fine! cannot get to misbehave like it is doing at your end (tried it in 2018/19/20/22)

What you show is a section head, not a callout head. You shared the wrong family.

that's what I thought first looking at the image in the OP but the file shared is a callout head family; Detail Views use callout heads not section heads

Again, that family is for callout head. For a detail section, the symbol definition is still under Section tag. I know it is confusing more than it is supposed to be but if you look at the definition for your detail section tag you can find out the family, then share it here.

hmmm... I missed out on that detail!!... What @ToanDN is saying

You are talking and referring to the Callout Tag
You uploaded the Callout tag (so far so good)
But the attached image is that of the section tag ... that Section Head: No arrow which looks the same as the callout tag

Previously uploaded: Callout tag - works fine

I know that this thread is almost 5 years old at this point but as I recently stumbled upon a similar problem I wanted to add my five cents as well.

I am preeeeeeeeeeeeeetty sure that it probably has to do with the fact that Revit does not like when you fiddle around with a callout head family, especially when you change the boundary lines to anything else but a perfect circle. Doing so will mess with the position of the leader line as this looks for a point on a circle to connect to.

Even on the official documentation for Revit 2024, in the article about creating callout heads, you can see that they changed the leader line to have an elbow for the custom family where the callout head has a pill shape: Help | Create a Callout Head Family | Autodesk

All in all, I think having more control over the position of the leader line would make so much sense for callouts.

In fact, standardizing the way leader lines work across all kinds of families, tags, text etc. would be much more user friendly than the current solution....
