Hi all, I wonder can you help me.

I have brought an ordnance survey map into Revit and scaled it so that it is scaling very close to what it should be, i.e. I initially used the scale bar on the map for this. Then I checked the site width with my survey notes and it corresponds.

I want to use the map to show the areas of individual plots.

However, when I use the filled region tool for calculating areas, Revit reports an area which is completely different to what the plot area should be. I have provisional areas already worked out in AutoCAD so I know what the area of the plot should be.

If my map is scaled properly in Revit, which it appears to be, then why is the filled region area so far out? I need to be able to trust the areas that the filled regions produce.

Any help you can give me will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Paul.

I would create an "Area Plan" rather than using a filled region.

Is the site in question in flat? ie is it possible the site is sloped- thus the area looking down in plan, is not the same as the site surface area as measured on it's slope?

Toposurface has 2 parameters: A. Surface Area and B. Projected Area ...the latter would be the areas which the filled regions are reporting

I wouldn't trust the numbers.

@D20128727 wrote:

I have brought an ordnance survey map into Revit and scaled it so that it is scaling very close to what it should be

"Very close to what it should be"???
