Not too clear what you mean so this is my best guess:

- create the glass dome using a roof by face (glass material/thickness for the roof type), pick the top surface of the dome

- create the frame using in place sweep, pick path (pick the base circle of the roof or the mass)

Hi:
Appreciate the replies, what l am attempting to do is place circular curtain wall at some distance from the apex of the dome, without losing the shape of the dome. I tries to place an opening in the mass, using the shaft opening tool, and then attempted to use two mass one a void at a distance from the apex, and then another generate mass at a distance - but doing it this way.. l lost the shape of the dome...

Hiya:

generate a much easy way of creating a curtain wall ring in a dome-

place a reference line at whatever diameter you want the windows to be at..

create a profile on the face of a point placed on the reference line, it you don't want to use the end points of the line -

pick profile and reference line - and create a solid/orvoid

place curtain wall on face...

design is a hit - now working on the structural engineering of the design...
