Edit path of sweep in Revit 2021

Hello there,

I am facing a difficulty in editing the existing path of a sweep, as it appears to me that the workflow of editing sweeps has changed since Revit release 2021.

Problem is, that when editing the sweep I pick the path, it is then highlighted and i can change the length of a path segment for instance, but i cannot select an endpoint of the path segment to align it to a reference plane. Instead I can pick a 3D edge (previously created model line), but when I delete the original path segment hosting the profile plane, the profile plane moves arbitrarily to another path segment and messes up the alignments of the profile.

Which is the proper workflow to edit an existing path and aligning it to ref planes?

Thank you for your hints.

Locking it to a plane would break the sweep if plane moves and sweep is locked to a 3D edge.

Instead using 3D edges for the path, use pick lines and associate path with a work plane or a ref plane.

The profile moves arbitrarily when deleting original sketch line hosting it....that is normal! Or do you expect that the software predicts which sketch path to host profile to?... you can edit profile and repost that first to a specific sketch line then edit path and delete the segment u do not want

Yes I saw the same message. There is a way around it by switching the profile back and forth between Named and By Sketch to empty it out so that I can move the plane, then assign or sketch the profile again.

Let's assume, a colleague has created it originally, let's assume it's a quite sophisticated door casing, let's assume the only thing that is wrong with it is that the path is aligned to the wrong base plane. I wouldn't want to dive into each alignment.
In my case what did work is:

- Edit profile -> Cut profile -> Draw some dummy profile -> Finish profile

- Edit path by picking 3D-lines (dont care where the profile plane goes) -> Finish path

- Edit profile -> Paste back profile from clipboard and move it to the right place -> Finish profile

- Finish sweep

However, as I've said in the beginning...

Thank you anyway.
