Moving the Project Base Point + the whole project

Hi there,

i need to be able to move my entire project to the following coordinates using the project base point:

N/S - 5405161.2470m
E/W - 3517477.6549m

in Revit 2020 this way easy, just select the PBP and put in the numbers. As long as it was "clipped", everything in the model moved with it.

In Revit 2020.2 and after, there isn't a clip anymore, the PBP is just kind of free-range. You put those numbers into the PBP and it moves without taking any of the geometry with it - or at least it would if those distances weren't so far away from the Internal Origin Point.

How can we do this? Obviously there is the "move project to new position" command, however this does not have the precision required here

You can use the Specify Coordinates at Point

You're welcome.

If your surveyor's plan in AutoCAD or Civil 3D is georeferenced, you can do the above by

linking the DWG >>>
aligning that reference N/E point you mentioned with the reference point in Revit then >>>
acquire coordinates from the link >>
save/sync (same menu shown above - that's how you set up shared coordinates)

PS: if you haven't done that before, test it out on a sample project to get the hang of it

Hi,

Just to chip in on this. Is it not the survey point that you are talking about clipping and unclipping? I still find the difference between PBP and SP confusing!

My coworker just ask me the same question as well. he is using useing revit 2022, i am using revit 2020.

the servey point and project point in revit 2020 has paper clip sign where u can change the coordinate and the struture will move with the point.

yet in revit 2022, there is no paper clip sign for project point.

to solve the problem, we use " manage - project location - position - relocate project " to move the struture first.

After that we change the porject base point coordinate.
