Downgrading to Revit LT

HI Everyone,

I am having to shift to Revit LT due to cost cutting, after 15 years using Revit.

Apart from the obvious work sharing issues, has anyone done the same and how did you find it?

Is Revit LT really BIM?

I see real issues in not using plug ins to overcome all the Revit problems that exist.

Any reason you've not installed RevitLT trial and tested it with your own files nd workflows to answer those personal questions before leaping? You can only read so much online, but testing everything yourself is the best solution.

Here is a list of what LT cannot do

- no PDF linking

- no custom in-place family in project

- no adaptive component

In a way...it is crippled from the start for people needing those in-place family design. If your company wants to cost cutting, Autodesk is offering new licensing model called Token. It is something you may want to look into to see if that maybe the route to go. I won't recommend LT if you do custom design.

Revit LT is still great. If you don't use plug-ins much you might not lose any abilities.
