Hello,

Looks like your are not experienced with Revit API.
Here are some material for your to get started:
1. My first Revit Plug-in for non-programmers. http://www.autodesk.com/myfirstrevitplugin
2. Revit API getting started DevTVs: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?id=2484975&siteID=123112

3. About the code sample:
Deleting all materials: \Samples\DeleteObject under Revit SDK.
Deleting imported objects in object styles: No handy sample shows this usage. CategoryNameMap.Erase() method can be used to delete the imported Subcategory.
Not showing annotation categories in very view: You can call View.HideElement() method to hide element in the calling view. So you need to go through all view to unhide the target annotation categories.

So I'm looking into developing revit add ins for tasks oriented only in the creation of families but i seem to be having trouble on coding these tasks or finding code samples/tutorials relating to this.

Some examples of what I would hope to develop would include: Deleting all materials. Deleting imported objects in object styles. Not showing annotation categories in every view.
