Yes, Dynamo is pretty useful with Project management. I am not big on C# so a tool like Dynamo allows me to come up with some simple Revit API definitions that do what typically was reserved for macros. I have been using it for over a year and real project applications are plenty. Please visit www.archi-lab.net to see some of the work that I have been doing in Dynamo.

As Im a newbie, correct me if I'm wrong; but the problem with dynamo is that you cannot create "Add-Ins"that you can put in the ribbon.

Plus since I only have 1 screen, so I find it very annoying having the dynamo "big" window opened as I work on Revit.

Correct, Dynamo requires users to open and run the Dynamo scripts from inside Dynamo and not from a toolbar icon. I believe this is on their wishlist/roadmap for the future.

Hi Ning Zhou,

Not right now. Dynamo API is not officially supported by ADN.

That said, interesting that you brought it up at this timing. I was talking with Conceptual Design team about up coming AEC Hackathon in New York, and this topic came up. I happen to be using it as a summer time fun:

http://the360view.typepad.com/blog/2015/08/robotic-fabrication-workshop.html

Historically, Dynamo was intended for "programming" for non-coders. So natually we did not think 3rd party will be using it as development platform. Maybe time to re-evaluate and take a closer look to find out how 3rd party might be using it.

In a mean time, continue using Dynamo forum mentioned above for Dynamo questions.

Well, there does excist a program called dyno browser and it is run like an add-in in the revit ribbon, so there is a way. If only I knew what way 🙂
