Dear Sirs,

I want to notify you that we have experienced a problem once we have migrated our project (Pump Storage Power Plant Nant de Drance in Swiss Alps, under construction) from RVT2016 to RVT2017.

The issue is with components which we have imported to external families (generic models) as 3D dwg files or simplified 3D objects from Inventor.

These objects/components (as part of the design) are not any more visible in the project sheets (in the plan view - drawings) in RVT2017.

I have attached an example of the layout which has been prepared in RVT2016 and tested two families as on attached Inconsistent model display 01.jpg and Inconsistent model display 02.jpg to present the problem.

I have seen on knowledge.autodesk.com website that the issue has been already reported by another user (Incident Id.: 98309), but unfortunately the workarounds (3) seems to not satisfy the project requirements.

Recently we have been planning with other Project Partners (Engineering Offices) to move the project from Revit Server 2016/2017 to A360 cloud and use B360 Team services, but this unexpected “error” hold up our decision and makes planned move uncertain.

Can you please let me know your position to this subject? I will be appreciate for your prompt feedback.

Regards,

Marcin PILARCZYK
BSc in Civil Engineering

Hydro Power

AF International Division

Visiting Address:

Täfernstrasse 26 | 5405 Baden | Switzerland

Direct: +41 (0)56 483 17 44 | Fax: +41 (0)56 483 17 99

marcin.pilarczyk@afconsult.com | afconsult.com

http://ch.linkedin.com/in/pilarczykmarcin

Hi,
It's a known issue that Steve Stafford wrote about it here:
http://revitoped.blogspot.co.uk/2016/09/imported-or-linked-dwg-appearance-as.html?m=1
I did some minor testing (see the blog comments).
Autocad objects seem fine. It's the ones that come from other packages that seem to screw it up. Consider trying to freshen the dwg output. Some thoughts (in no particular order):
Wblock
Purge
Remove proxy objects
Purge regards
Remove xdata
Save to early versions of the dwg format
Import the dwg straight into Revit, then export it to dwg, then import that into your generic model.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,

-Matt
