Does ReCap Photo compete with agisoft and pix4d products?

I don't normally ask people to possibly advertise other companies products here, but in this case I think its to Autodesk's advantage, if they truly have a good product.

I am shopping "drone photo to 3d model" software currently, and am looking for feedback from anyone who has used recap photo and the competition on several real projects that have survey ground control and been happy with the adesk product.

I am purely interested in the ortho-photo and point cloud. I do not intend to use recap to clean the data or classify it.

I tested the orthomap and pointcloud tools in DroneDeploy, Pix4D and Recap Photos, the latter several months ago when it just came out. Pix4D seems to be the best solution by far, and you pay for it in consequence. As usual, it depends what you need the cloudpoint and orthomap for...

Thanks for your comment. Any reason you did not try agisoft PS? It seems to be the main or closest competitor to Pix4d.

I would have no problem using the autodesk one if it works. Hopefully there is someone out there with a positive experience from it, besides the AU class writers.

No reason, it's on my list but drone survey and photogrammetry are not strictly our core business... Recap Photos remains, in my opinion, a mediocre solution up to now, for that price Drone Deploy seems to be a better solution.. Pix4D can be expensive in his most evolute form (Pix4D Mapper and BIM)
