I'm having trouble understanding the proper way of implementing coordinates into recap pro.

I'm given a Civil Survey with multiple survey points and not sure how to do this in recap.

Set 1 will have: NE, S, & W I'm assuming the Z will be the CB or MH

Set 2 will have: W, W, NW

And so on.

I watched videos of where after you complete your rcp file, you hover over the Home incon, then select registration but the coordinate system isn't in the list and I only see x, y, &z

If I were to start over, I can import the fls files and that gives me an option right away under the advanced tap and able to select current and target coordinate system but I do not understand the purpose of "Target" and it will not allow you to continue unless you select at Target.

If I were to start over using existing rcs files, I do not get the option in the beginning.

Also, I cannot find:

NAD 83 New York Central Zone (3102) US feet

Hi,

You can also import survey points in the format of NWE format.

'Target' CS is used to transform the scan in the original coordinate system to some other target coordinate system. If you don't want to transform it, you can set it the same as the current coordinate system.

Best,

Hi @RJK42 ,

Thank you for contributing to our forums. Looks like you are having some issues understanding the process for implementing coordinates in Recap Pro. The Current coordinate system is what the current coordinate system is. In a new project it does not project a coordinate system. The Target coordinate system is what you are changing it to (if that is what you want to do). As Yan said, you can make your target the same as the current coordinate system.

As for your coordinate system, I believe you want to use NY83-CF NAD83 New York State Planes, Central Zone, US Foot 2261.

Here is our public documentation for learning how to use features in Recap.

Thank you for responding. I ask because I have seen "anil.mistry" pop up reply over and over again asking if the coordinate system was set.

I did but Recap will not let me continue if I don't select a coordinate system for "Target". So am I correct with making current and target the same? i.e.... NY83-CF?

Yes, you can make current and target CS same to proceed.
