topic Deformed mesh in ReCap Forum

Hi Autodesk community,

I recently tried to create a mesh of a snapback and the result is not satisfying. The 3d model is deformed and I don't know what may cause this. I used a DSLR camera 24 megapixel and a light box with a smart turntable. The camera was 100% fix and stable the photos look really good but the mesh don't. I attached photo to this post so you can judge by yourself. I am a bit disapointed because it's not the first time it does this and and unfortunately each time it cost me my cloud credit. Please if you have any tips on advice it would be really appreciated.

Thank you

Hi @eric.aubuchon11 ,

It's hard to say what might have caused the deformed state at the back of your model. There are various factors that could be causing this like the image lighting or the model with similar patterns etc. Would it be possible to share your dataset with me so that I can run it by the engine directly and also investigate the case. Does the model have a uniform pattern texture? or the images have shadows at those areas?

Warmest Regards,
