Grab Cenerlines didn't work in some Pointclouds

Hi there

In some cases, when I insert point clouds on cylinders or pipes in Autocad, I can grab the centerline with the appropriate command. In many point clouds, however, this is not possible. Is it possible to set this later in ReCap.
Why is it possible in some point clouds and not in other point clouds?

Hi @JoergW66 ,

The centerline grab feature is based on the segmentation information store in the point cloud file. Currently the segmentation information is only available for structured scans. If the point cloud is unstructured, then the centerline detection won't work.

However, for some structured scans that are generated using ReCap SDK, it depends on how the third party software processes the raw scans and segmentation information may not be available for this kind of project.

thanks for your answer. I clears my understanding of the problem.

Now I must search for a good poind cloud that I can use, perhaps a good free demo point cloud, that contains the semantation infomations.
