Recap not importing all data(?) from Faro Focus Premium

Hello

I'm trying to import Faro Focus Premium scan .FLS folders into Recap & have been having issues for a while now.

The data is there - have put the scans into SCENE & everything seems fine - regstration all good & data integrity seems ok.

When i do the same with Recap i get the following

I'm not sure what to do now - this is the same workflow as i've used previously (a year or so ago) - it's like the data is missing (although in SCENE it's all fine)

Any ideas what i'm doing wrong? Recap is updated to latest version.

What I usually do is process all scans in Scene first, then export all the FLS files back out after processing. I then bring the processed scans into Recap and it works fine. It'll take a very long time to initially start processing in Recap (30-60 minutes) if you've imported 80+ scans. I recommend doing a few at a time, letting those process, then do another batch, or just let it run over night.

I've also discovered if you use the Ricoh Z1 camera for creating the colored scans, then Recap cannot process them without doing the step above. I had a support ticket in for this and it's one of those "finger pointing" between FARO and Autodesk on who is responsible for the fix.

Ok thanks - yeah the reason for my post was to avoid using Scene (@$4k / year) - but if it is a necessity then it looks like the office will downgrade our Autodesk subscriptions & remove Recap as it doesn't work without Scene anyway; we're not replacing our FARO scanner hardware.

Hello folks!

Just as an FYI the latest ReCap 2027 Release contains the latest FARO SDK to enable Faro-Topcon and Faro Orbis support.. It is working without data loss for the data that we are testing with, it would be worth checking this out if you get a chance.

Please let us know if your data is still failing so that we can investigate further.

So we're still getting... whatever this is. Am running Recap 2027 - updated with hotfix.
Using Faro Focus Premium 70 - importing FLS folders directly into Recap.

What is going on.. what can i do here?
Our Scene license has expired & previous versions of Recap have worked.

I too am having this same problem. We recently upgrade our scanner to an LLS09. We previously only used RECAP and are trying to avoid paying the high premiums for SCENE.

Any help welcomed.
