Hi Rishov and thanks for your reply!
What I meant with flashing is that it looks like the excess material when molding something, as is shown in the picture with the mesh. A colleague in another town, used another program to make a mesh of this scan and it turned out correct.

The object is the inside of a very long furnace. The inside has a very matte surface.

"Flashing" in Scan to Mesh

Hi!
I have had good results with scan to mesh this far. But for this latest job I noticed that the model got some kind of large "flashing". Do you know what it could be? I can't notice that much noise in the point cloud.

Thankful for any help!

I could not understand you? What is meant by "flashing" here?

Do note that elongated models even though processed in High could come out less detailed as it depends on the bounding box of the point cloud. The smaller the area processed, the more details. Just an FYI.

Hi Rishov!
I ran the "Scan to Mesh" with the high setting. Thanks it would be fantastic if you could investigate this.
I attached the point cloud in this post.

Hi @krister.lundmarkLM82S ,

Sorry for the delay in reply. I did test it out a bit and it seems even at the highest level there is still some kind of flashing still happening. I am not sure yet if this is because of the multiple layers of points existing around the pipe.

So what I did was use the limit box and limit the scan to only the front area of the pipe. This way we get a much higher detailed version. There is not much flashing happening there but you can still see a border. See the image attached.

We will log a case for this to investigate why this might be happening whether it is for the layers or its something else. If this was achieved to be perfect using other applications, perhaps the method of meshing is different there perhaps they are using tile-based meshing. Will need to investigate.

Thanking You for sharing your dataset.

Warmest Regards,
