Last time I tried it, setting the UCS in ReCap only gave a small patch (less than .5 meter). That is inadequate for a big building. We really need to be able to capture a whole wall's average direction.

Redefining UCS in ReCap?

Is there any way of repeatably changing the UCS of a point cloud within ReCap? I would like to align a UCS with the intersection of a floor and two walls.

It is doable within Cyclone, naturally, but is no fun.

If it cannot be one within ReCap, then it's a suggestion.

Absolutely. You can use the 'Update Origin' tool, available from the main menu. The tool allows you to select a point as the origin, then planes to set the Z and X axes.

Hope this helps.

That is a good answer. I did not know that feature.

An enhancement would be to be able to set the UCS using the intersection of three planes from the scan.
