change path to scan folder for a Recap file?

I have a client that sent me a Recap file that has already registered the individual scan files. I have the same scan file folders on my machine. Is there anyway to point this Recap file to my folders and have recap find those scan files? Thank you.

If you have the exact same files, this should work. When loading a project, ReCap will look for scans in the following order:

The full path of the files at the time the RCP was saved. In your case this is probably a path on your client's machine.
The location of the files relative to the RCP at the time the RCP was saved (usually './<project> Support', but sometimes different if your client arranged things strangely).
A folder called <rcp name> Support in the same folder as the RCP.

You should be able to place (and/or name) your RCP such that #2 or #3 will allow ReCap to find the files.

I've done a little digging. It's not just as simple as having the recap file, rcp file and the point cloud scan files which are fls folders. Recap creates a folder with the individual Recap files that are related to the project name called rcs files. I'll need to get that folder from the client. I thought I might have been able to do it with just the raw scan files. Thanks for your answer as this may be what I will need when I get the folder with the rcs files in it. Recap should find those files as long as I put the project folder under the "Recap" folder. I think / hope. Thanks.

Any more clarification or tips would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to register a point cloud from the scanner files. I did not scan the project and am finding it very difficult to piece together. I think more scans were required.

I see. Yeah, ReCap does not deal w/ the raw (e.g. FLS) files at all once they are imported. In my opinion, the best way to transfer projects around is to create a ZIP (or other single-file archive) from the RCP and its Support folder, then unzip on the target machine. This will ensure you have all of the files needed (especially for things like registration, which requires several different file types in that folder).
