Opening .points file extension (not .pts)

Hi all,

We have been provided with a file we need to open and crop/reduce to be used in a animation.

It is a collection of 32 x 1.3GB files with .points extension

Everything I have read so far I can not find anything about this format as everything refers to .pts extensions (or other)

Apparently the original software used was Cloudworx.

Can anyone advise how I can open these with Recap or similar?

Thank you for participating in our Community!!! I would suggest to ask whoever you send you this files to convert in format that opens with ReCap or request to send you file in Raw format like FLS, PTS or LAS then import that into ReCap and go through registration process to work. Hi Anil,

We have requested that from the client thank you.
We suspect it is the base export files from the laser scanner.

I had already found the Recap article and had noted no reference to .points
extension.
