Model Error in Recap Photo

Hi...I tried to create my first Recap Photo model with 256...after waiting for a while to upload and then waiting for processing I get an error report...now what? Is there a way to resubmit without using more cloud credits to find out where the problem is? Pretty unhappy with first shot...oh well, probably my fault...but please assist...Rgds., James

Hello @james_oneill,

Sorry to hear about the problem you faced with your first project.

Let me understand the issue in more details before I provide any solution.

When you say ".after waiting for a while to upload and then waiting for processing I get an error report", I just want to ask you couple of questions.

1. Where did you see this error, On the Dashboard?

2. Did you check the Cloud Credits after error, is it returned back to your account? (You can try log Of and log in again and check your Cloud Credits.) If project failed from our end we return the cloud credits.

3. May I know the name of your project which was failed?

4. Will it be possible for you to the share the photos with me, If yes, I will send you the box location for you to share, or you can share and send a mail to me on ritesh.chandawar@autodesk.com.

I hope it was a Object Project and not Aerial, please clarify.

My first attempt included approx. 181 images from one flight and approx 75 taken from a previous flight a few days earlier for a total of 256 images failed and cloud credits returned. My second attempt I only uploaded the 181 images from the second fight and not the approx 76 images which also failed (reads Error on dashboard) and cloud credits returned. Pretty bummed but OK lets get it solved...

No it is not resolved...Critesh didn't collect my images...so when I got your message I thought you did something on your end and I retried submitting he model after deleting the 2 projects...I tried deleting model first but it crashed recap photo...and sent an error message to Autodesk...I reloaded images again they uploaded and 12 cloud credits were taken off but then put back on with the error message...please help...

If your photos are on A360 then please share the folder with me, or let me know your email id, I will share the folder with you so that you can upload the photos.

Yes, the project is on my A360 under the names: StOlafnew171010 (250+ images) and StOlafnew171010(1) with a reduced set of images. The difference is that the first project includes some drone images taken a few days earlier...sure hope you can solve this quickly as I'm waiting on the delivery of my BLK360...Best, James

I just had an other model error with the same problem i.e. uploads then gets to a bout 28% processed then goes into error...I'll post this as a separate Post message...

Hi,

Thank you for sharing the images. The images are from a fish-eye lens and appeared to have been de-fished. This will not work! We recommend using a rectilinear lens and an automated flight mapper for a reliable capture. For getting good details on a structure and using a drone, you can mix nadir images (looking straight down) with obliques (camera at an angle towards the structure).

For capturing objects - again do not use a fish-eye lens. Use a standard lens camera or even a modern smart phone will work great.
