3D Pointcloud online viewer?

Hi all,

Do you know any Pointcloud free online viewer?

The onlyone I discovered is Sketchfab, but it has a limit of 50MB per upload. I don't know how could I reduce a .rcp file to 50MB.

Do you know any other online 3D pointcloud viewer? Or, does anyone have a Recap to Sketchfab workflow to share?

Thank you for participating in our Community! I am not aware of any other viewer but have you tried publishing point cloud model from ReCap Pro to cloud and viewing on ReCap web? You can also share publish model with other to view in online.

Hi @anil_mistry

Yes, I tried ReCap-Web (connected with A360 Drive), but there's not a 3D point cloud model view.

As far as can I see, on ReCap-Web there are Map view and Real view, but there's no way to orbit a 3D point cloud model of the scans. That's why I discovered Sketchfab online viewer.

Have you tried Voxxlr at www.voxxlr.com. It can handle point clouds up to 1.5 billion points. It is initially free for new users.

Try Pointbox.xyz

It's like Sketchfab but for pointclouds and has some good basic tools.

There is very little documentation, but most of it is very easy to use. I haven't managed to figure out how their clipping tool works though!

We use Potree online viewer. (https://github.com/potree) I've had multiple point clouds with hundreds of millions of points displaying seamlessly. You're files have to be converted to Potree's format but there's lots of documentation on how to do it. I'm genuinely amazed that this is free and has so many tools and the option to output all lines and measurements to DXF.

Friend, I tried straight through the Potree site, but I was not successful !!!

I was able to find all the required resources on the Potree Site (potree.org/getting_started.html & GitHub.com/potree) and doing some googling to fill in the blanks. You'll need to start with setting up a server to host your data, either locally or online. Then, you'll need to download the converter to generate the Potree clouds. (You can also download the PotreeDesktop app to only view files locally or qc your cloud before hosting it)

We've integrated the viewer into another application so our case is a bit different but a simple viewer is quite simple to get going.
