cannot register survey points

brought in 2 drone point cloud scans into a project. it was assigned a coordinate system so northing and easting look good but the z-elevations are way too low. I saw in a tutorial, I could register survey points, but that option is missing in my recap pro 2025. how can I add survey points to my point cloud?

You're right that in previous versions of ReCap Pro, there was a clear "Register Survey Points" option, but in ReCap Pro 2025, the workflow has changed a bit and that specific button may not be visible depending on your project setup or license.

To add survey points to your point cloud in ReCap Pro 2025, try the following steps:

Go into the Registration mode of your project.
Use the three-dot menu on a selected point and look for the option to "Make Survey Point" or similar wording.
You can also import survey points from a text file (usually formatted as Point Number, Northing, Easting, Elevation), saved as a tab-delimited .txt file.
Once you add at least three well-spaced survey points, ReCap should align your point cloud to those control points.
If you still don't see the survey point tools, double-check that your project is fully registered and not just indexed, as some options only appear after registration.

If your Z elevations are still off after adding survey points, you may need to re-register the project using the new control points. Also, make sure your survey points are not all in a straight line to avoid tilting issues.
