I had AutoCAD LT 2004 installed on my PC running Windows 7. I needed to upgrade to Windows 10 because of the support deadline. When I did, I lost my AutoCAD LT 2004 installation. I reinstalled it with my installation disc and I still had the serial number from the box. The problem now is that with the new installation on Windows 10 I get a startup dialog box that says registration/authorization will expire in 30 days. What happens after the expiration? Will I still be able to use the program I purchased before there were subscriptions?

Nope as of August 31 2019 any version 2010 or older can no longer be activated, older versions don't work on the newer OS anyway. If you have removed the working version from an existing computer then you have lost it, this page tries to explain why, and you can try posting in this dedicated forum (but your 2004 version is dead). Time to look at updating to the new subscription method.

Thanks for the answer. I will never subscribe to an Autodesk product after this ripoff.
There are too many other purchasable drafting programs that use dwg to deal with a company that has no loyalty to its customers.
What do you mean not loyal? In 2004 I paid full retail for a product and was never told it would expire until AutoDesk changed its “business model” which translates to an abandonment of their older customers. If I bought a car 15 years ago and maintained it, is it reasonable that at some arbitrary date it would no longer function even when that was not specified when the car was purchased? Autodesk is just a poor excuse for a company. I find it astounding that people like you would defend this immorality.

And if you had read some of the links posted earlier one of the major problems for Autodesk is this very same type of upgrade within Microsoft making the old servers too obsolete and expensive to maintain. Or should the people that buy into Autodesk product today continue to subsidize people who insist on living in the past? But with all that said it is pure semantics, it is just a fact, anything 2010 or older is now obsolete. Any discussion is futile. You are more than welcome to rant and rave, to be honest, it is understandable, but we are just the messengers.

It is not the software that is obsolete, it is perfectly capable to do the job. It is autodesk who made it obsolete . To expensive for ad to run the server? Really;)
