Electrode Upper Center / Origin

Hello

When I am creating electrodes, they are usually in the center of the block. But a small percentage of the electrodes I need that the electrodes have decentralized origin / upper center / electrode holder.

The origin / the upper center I can place where i want, but the electrode holder is always in the center.

Is there any option that always places the electrode holder in the center of the electrode and that it can change to the upper center? (attached some images that show what happens)

Hi David

I'm not entirely sure I understand exactly what you are trying to achieve. However, if you are looking for a way to specify that the holder should align with the corner or the edge of the electrode rather than the centre, this can be achieved with the "offset" option in the electrode holder definition XML. The offset is a fraction of the dimension of the electrode so setting one offset dimension to 0.5 (or -0.5) will align edge to edge. And setting both dimensions to 0.5 (or -0.5) will align corner to corner.

See file:///C:/Program%20Files/Autodesk/PowerShape%202021/file/electrode/holder_xml_syntax.html#sec-4-12

Hope this helps!

Hello @Craig.Burney_DSI

Yeah my PowerShape is 2014 R2 (Delcam). But for many times i get useful help here. And till now where i work anyone update my sofware. It's possible move in this old version or this move its an uptadate?

________________________________________________________

Hello @chris.hamer-hodges

I am familiar with the xml of the electrode holders. But what I am trying to do is not to decentralize the electrode holder always a certain distance. What I want is to place the electrode holder at the origin that I define when creating the electrode.

For example:
Electrode 1: At the center of the electrode (x = 0 / Y = 0)
Electrode 2: Decentralized (x = 50 / Y = 0)
Electrode 3: Decentralized (x = 0 / Y = 50)
Electrode 4: Decentralized (x = 0 / Y = -25)
Electrode 5: Decentralized (x = -5 / Y = -15)

Always with the same electrode holder
