I thought it might be useful to have a small Tips and Tricks section here. Do you have any tips to pass on to help everyone get the best out of PowerShape? If so, please share them here.

To whet your appetites, here's one:

If you have a complex model, and need to select some faces that are hard to see (for example faces that are undercut in a die insert) you can use selection while inside 'Dynamic sectioning'.

Here's another useful one:

If you press and hold the Tab key, you get a 2x zoom to your current cursor position. Handy when creating composite curve in tight regions. You change the zoom factor using Tools > Options.

If you haven't already discovered it, the Screencast tool (free from Autodesk) is a great way to share videos like this!

Screencast seems pretty slick. I used it yesterday, and it integrates nicely with the forum.

Hello everyone.

Here is a simple but very handy shortcut.

Press Alt + Left mouse button over the edge of a solid or surface or even above lines and arcs. ( etc.etc)

It is automatically created a compcurve.

Move object between workplanes in macro

I am a bit embarrassed to admit i was not aware of this simple and easy functionality until very recently.

I am always working on macros to do repetitious steps because they are faster and more reliably correct, recently I needed to move some copied objects to a different location in the file for fixturing purposes and Jon H. was able to show me this.

as you can see it is very simple, hence my embarrassment at not knowing about it before

A very simple but very comfortable command that can be useful.

Selection filter:

TOTAL or PARTIAL selection with filter (like video screencast)
Use the selection filter by interacting directly in the project view, avoiding the filter window mask.

I thought this was common knowledge, but I've seen a couple of guys who didn't know this so,,,, my favorite 4 shortcuts:

ctrl + J = blank

ctrl + K = blank except

ctrl + L = unblank all

ctrl + Y = toggle blanked objects
