Data Exchange Utility 2018 - Errors Dialogue now meaningless

With the new version, the errors dialogue is now meaningless when importing an assembly file that has missing CAD models..

In 2017 it used to say .

Error : Unable to find externally referenced file C:\Users\engineering\Desktop\2177 pipe.SLDPRT.
Error : Unable to find externally referenced file C:\Users\engineering\Desktop\2177 part1.SLDPRT.
Error : Unable to find externally referenced file C:\Users\engineering\Desktop\2177 part2.SLDPRT.

And I could say to my customer send me the above files.

In 2018, it just says;

Ignoring empty group HPRM2575.

Which no help to anybody.

Can we get this reported to development please?

Thank you for contacting Autodesk Community Forum.

Can you please confirm exact version of the Autodesk PowerShape and Autodesk Manufacturing Data Exchange Utility that you are using at your end to import the SolidWORKS Assembly Part at your end? The latest version of the Autodesk PowerShape is 2018 (Version 2018.1.1.18121) and AMDEU is 2018 (2018.1.0.880002). If you are using an older versions than these, can you please update to latest version of Autodesk PowerShape, AMDEU and verify still are you able face the above reported instance? You can download the latest version from Autodesk Desktop App or logging into Autodesk Account.

If you are using latest versions, then can you please supply the related SolidWORKS Assembly file through private massage or email (jitendra.chaudhari@autodesk.com) so that we test the data and escalate to respective development team?

Please verify and confirm.

Hi Jitendra,

I've just emailed you the .SLDASM file in question.

I am using both the latest customer release versions of Powershape and Exchange that you mention.

Note that in this instance, I am only using the exchange interface - Powershape does not recognise .SLDASM files when I drag and drop onto an open model.

I have tested the supplied SOlidWORKS Assembly file at my end. I can reproduce the above instance at my en with latest versions of Autodesk PowerShape and AMDEU. Hence I am escalating this instance to AMDEU development team now. I will keep you posted for major updates on respective change request or you can raise the support request to get further updates on this change request.

You can submit and view support requests from your Autodesk Account. Please refer this article for further details.
