I load a tool with shank from my tooldatabase to Powermill . Then I just want to edit the shank and all fiels are locked, nevertheless I can change the cutting(yellow) part of the tool.

Can someone help me on this one? Is this a bug?

Hi @zfreitas

This is the behavior of imported PowerMill tools for as long as I can remember. It doesn't matter if you create the tool from the database or from a template, the shank and holder components are not editable.

I don't think this is a bug, but rather intended. I just do not know why that is.

have you considered cloning the tool delete the imported one, make required edits, then use it or add to database it should update original.
