Yes, just tried putting them on a separate level. Tried verifying with it visible and not visible and got the same result. I never had any of the levels actually "active". Also went in to the verification thickness for the toolpath and set it to ignore.

Between each of these test I cleared the verification on the the NC Program.

The toolpaths themselves verify to a blue checkmark, so it is purely the NC Program Verification, and not the toolpath verification.

I have a workpiece and fixture clamps modeled in my Powermill project, and also have my machine .mtd.

In my first set of operations it is 3 axis moves, mostly making some holes. I can verify that I am not colliding with the fixture clamps.

My second set of operations, which are 5 axis, I add hold down bolts through the workpiece, and remove the clamps. For my toolpath, I set the clamps thickness to "ignore". This seems to work fine for the toolpath, but when I do NC Program Verification, collisions are detected between the clamps (which in real life are no longer there), and the presetting laser on the machine.

Is there a good way to have the verification ignore those models, or do I need to actually delete the models from the project?

Thanks,

David

Well, then I don't see any other possibility than making two different projects. I agree, that it becomes heavy...

May be someone from the former Delcam's staff ?

Olivier

As it stands right now NCP verification just uses the model and ignores any of the thickness set settings. Sadly that means the only way to verify against those is to delete them, sorry I can't be the bearer of good news!

Hi @Anonymous, @ken.poyner and @NanchenO,

There is an existing change request to not to consider the ignored surfaces for Machine Collisions. There is no need to delete the clamp model form the project. I have created a temporary workaround to this query.

**Wayaround to disable (not to consider) the "Ignored surfaces" for Machine collisions under MTD Simulation or NC Verification :

Convert work holding device (Vice/fixture) model to reference model & check mtd collision. MTD simulation doesn't consider the reference model. Please refer video from: http://screencast.com/t/G839UALZBjo
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
**Convert Reference Model back to a Machining Model:

At present, there is no reverse way to convert 'Reference Model' back to a 'Normal model'. There is also an existing change request for this.

Time-being, you can use the following temporary workaround to get this done.

You will just need to copy the user menu attached (model.xml) into the folder specified by the HOME variable. This is the same folder that all user menus are located. You will also need to edit this file to point to the location of the attached macro "Convert_to_Model.mac".

To use it
RIGHT MOUSE CLICK on the reference models you want to convert > User > Convert Reference Model to a Model

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please Accept as solution if my post fully resolves your issue, or reply with additional details if the problem persists.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you very much for your patience, and please let me know if you have additional questions / issues.

Note: Please change the file extension from 'Convert_to_Model.txt' to 'Convert_to_Model.mac'

Thank you.

I have tried the 'convert to reference model' workaround.

It seems that I have to re-import the machine tool every time I change a model from a 'normal' model to a reference model, otherwise it keeps recognizing it as 'normal' and registering a collision. Going from a reference model to a 'normal' model does not require importing the machine tool again.

Otherwise, it does work.

Thank You.

.

Thanks for spotting this one.

I have raised a 'Change Request' to Development-Team for ignoring M/C collisions with Reference Model without re-importing the mtd file.

Thank you.
