Bottom Corner, toolpath avoids going into. Model Area Clearance

Is there a setting in Model Area Clearance that I can change to get the toolpath to go into the bottom corner?

The .jpg I attached shows how the bottom corner gets avoided by the toolpath.

The only way I can get what I want is to set the Block a few tenths shallower then the depth of the pocket, which is too time consuming.

What's the tolerance you're using for your toolpath? Try tightening it up. I know going from a .005 to a .001 makes a difference

I am trying to just go with what it gives me.

Most of the time I need it to go into the corner.

Another work around is to delete the bottom surface.

That work good.

It seems that the software tries to "protect" the bottom surface.

What we sometimes have to do to reach the bottom is to give to the bottom surface a thickness of -(2x tolerance): works fine.

Another possibility is to set the bottom surface as "Ignore", no need to delete it.

That would make it go past the level of the surface and cause a gouge will it not?

Yes. But the first thing I used to do with the depth of the block would have to continue, which is set the depth of the block to the same level of the pocket.

Its not a solution. Its a work around.

Sounds like a lot of work if there a lot of pockets at different Z-levels. Is this a roughing toolpath leaving material or finishing to 0.0?

Also you know you don't have to change the depth of your block everytime, you can just set it once and use the Z limit min and max.

When we use the trick of thickness = -2x tolerance, we often have several levels. If the walls are vertical, we don't gauge the part.

If you have non vertical walls, I would rather select the horizontal surfaces and give only to them a negative thickness.

It is a lot of work to change the block depth.

Finish is 0.000.

The same thing happens in Model Area Clearance or Constant Z Finishing, even in Corner Pencil Finishing.

Limit Z limit max min - not sure how this can help. I can use it for other things I do. thanks.

Not to change the subject but flat finishing has this same behavior, impossible to get it into the corner.

There may an error in the triangle model, what the toolpath will always avoid..

it draws the calculated triangle model, what the toolpath's solvers use.

If you do a simple pencil cut it will indeed go all the way into the corners, so I doubt there is anything wrong with triangles. Take a pocket , any pocket and do a constant z toolpath with machine down to flats checked, 9 times out of 10 you will not get into the corner of the last z slice.
