Additive Manufacturing

Hi Guys!

As you can see in marketing Video for Powermill 2018 (here timestamp approx 2:15) there is a Possibitity to generate and simulate additive Manufacturing.

I downloaded a testversion and wanted to test it out. Normally we have to remove extra Material and such functionality is well known. But now i have no clue, how can i generate a path nor how can i let Millview simulate adding material.

I guess i will need a tool with negative removal rate for generating a Path for a growing part, am i right? Or are there any Plugins or scripts i need for such tasks

Could you explain or give me some hints (tutorials, slides, webinars, or just anything) about Additive Manufacturing in PowerMill?

The relaited functionality of PowerMill seems to be a little be overpraised now. I hope it isnt so.

The functionality you (and the video) are referring to is still a research project at the moment and it's not been released to customers yet.

We hope to release the functionality soon, but I cannot give you an exact time frame, as it is not a complete solution yet.

When using additive manufacturing for production, the subtractive steps needs as much consideration as the additive cycle - Delcam's manager of collaborative research

Unfortunately I can't guarantee anything as it depends on many factors that are out of my control.

However, I can tell you for sure that we are all actively working on making sure the functionality is implemented as soon as possible.

I heard some rumors about the additive module: "just about to launch.." - whatever "about" means.. 😉
