Okk tested with PWI 2019.1 , the I++ connection works. But as it is not on the same Workstation not sure if it's a PC configuration or PWI release issue.

I wanted to know if someone knows how to configure the VirtualCMM to change automaticaly the Sensor . When I need to simulate a Probe change in PowerMill I've got a message which said :

Is it possible to configure something to simulate the change automatically as on a real CMM ?

Hi Laurent,

Do I understand correctly that the real CMM that you are trying to simulate uses I++ protocol for connection? If it is true then the simplest way is to configure VirtualCMM to talk to PowerInspect via I++. In this case all tool changes will just happen. To do that you need:

a) Make sure that PowerInspect is configured to use I++ protocol. Make sure that you have "The I++ server is running on this PC" radio-button selected

b) Make sure that VirtualCMM answers using I++ protocol - from the drop-down list located near to the top-left corner in VirtualCMM select "I++ DME" (see a screenshot attached)

Then you need to do the usual - connect PI and make sure that tools' matching is right. It is useful to go to the Machine Tab in PowerInspect and click on "Save as machine defaults" - to save your settings afterwards.

If you are not simulating I++ connection then it would still be possible to set up both VirtualCMM and PowerInspect to change the tool completely automatically, but you'll have to configure and calibrate a tool rack which is more work.

Hm..., that's strange. Are you able to upgrade to the latest PI 2019.1 release?

Alternatively you could try to download and install this update from Microsoft - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=53587 - it might help, but I am not sure.
